1984 Pontiac Fiero with 24,300 original miles. This is an outstanding example of a cult classic on the rise. This was the first year of production, and it’s very rare to see one in this condition with such low miles. Climate controlled storage since new and has never seen less than perfect driving weather. Stored on a trickle charger among a large collection of unique GM vehicles and driven periodically to keep all systems operational. This car is a true time capsule and is sure to please for generations to come. Original owner’s manual and 2 sets of keys are included, as well as a binder with Fiero literature. The car has won trophies at Pontiac shows and has always been pampered.
The body and paint on this car are pristine. All original with no touch ups. The glass and rubber are all in excellent condition. All trim is original, and in excellent shape. The car is a pleasure to wipe down and the clear coat has been meticulously maintained, using only the best polishes. The unique look of the 2-seater, mid-engine car draws attention everywhere it goes.
The interior is like new. Everything works as it should. There are no odors in the car whatsoever. The car is incredibly roomy for how compact it is. I am 6’3” and find it to be very comfortable, even on longer drives. Everything works like it should. All gauges, lights, warning buzzers, power windows, locks, wipers, radio etc. The speakers built into the headrest are super cool. The AC is not blowing ice cold. Compressor kicks on flawlessly. There is pencil eraser size blemish in passenger seat bolster that has been repaired and is highlighted in the photo gallery. There is also a blemish on the driver’s door arm rest, smaller than pencil eraser, and has been repaired. Detailed picture in the photo gallery.
The 2.5L 4 cylinder known as the “Iron Duke” is in excellent shape, as to be expected on a 24k mile car. Spotless engine bay. These were rated for 27mpg city and 40mpg hwy! The 3 speed automatic shifts beautifully. No hesitation, no clunking or slipping whatsoever. I have parked the car in my garage after operating and have not seen a single drop on the ground. The car starts right up and has been incredibly reliable. The road manners are excellent. Mid-engine cars are the coolest. Steering is nice and tight, suspension is excellent. The car really does drive like new. No rattles or squeaks, no wandering, no shakes. Under the car is just as clean as above. You won’t win many drag races, but the Fiero did have better slalom times than the Civic CRX Si and the Toyota MR2. The Fiero also made Car and Drivers top 10 list in 1984 and pushed the Corvette off the Indy Pace Car selection.
All in all, this is one heck of a car. The Fiero is on the up and up in the collector world. Not many examples like thins exist. Being close to 40 years old and having 24,000 miles driven, there are some signs of use, but not abuse. The thin rubber trim in the exterior glass channel guides shows signs of wear, but nothing needing replacement. I just want to be up front about any flaws. The Fiero has clean CA title. Private Party Sale. Holds Non-Op registration, no back fees, no BS. CA SMOG passed 350 miles ago, in 2012.
I have included 160 high res phots and HD video, but I understand it’s not the same as seeing it in person. I highly encourage personal inspection and welcome anyone that wants to see it.
