Great option in the right situation - passed inspection for a city required 1 hr fire rated exterior new garage wall that's next to a pole w/electrical transformer on it. The building inspector had never seen fire tape in lieu of tape/mud for this situation and was fine w/it. Allowed me to move on to the next step and come back later when all the rock is up, remove the pink tape and use tape/mud same as the rest of the finished garage.

I had high hopes for this stuff for some tape repair in my house. I removed the old tape, primed with BIN, applied this product and was initially very happy with how well it stuck. I need to put mud over it so I primed it again with BIN. However when I applied mud, it bubbled like crazy. I applied a second coat it was no better. I ended up having to remove it. Maybe for drywall installation it works ok but not for a repair.
