    Description

On August 12 of 2008, about six months after the passing of country singing star Buck Owens,
the United States Postal Service issued a commemorative stamp to celebrate his career.
At about that same time a post office in Buck’s hometown of Bakersfield, California was renamed in his honor.
To celebrate the debut of this stamp, 200 framed plaques were made featuring Buck’s likeness and one of the stamps on an envelope.
These pieces were individually numbered (i.e. “22 of 200”).
Most of these plaques were given to friends, family and various VIPs , but some have been in the Buck Owens Foundation archives since then.
