    Description

Beautiful Vintage 7” Signed Korean Celadon Crackle Glaze Vase w/ Chrysanthemum Flowers. It’s in Very Good Condition with no chips, cracks or repairs.
The Korean celadon has several unique characteristics that distinguishes it from other porcelain. The pulchritude of the celadon lies in its natural color which is in enigma and itself. The color cannot be produced to artificial chemical treatments and appears only through the combination of the distinct Korean clay and the skill of the artist. Brushes are not used to decorate the celadon but rather illustrations are carved by special knives. Then various shapes of natural clay are set into the carved areas to create patterns. The glazed celadon of the Koryo dynasty (918-1392) is by far the most international recognized class of Korean artworks. Artesian’s are now reproducing excellent modern copies of celadons with intricate inlaid designs called “Sangkam”
