This stunning vintage brooch or pendant features a large peacock design crafted from solid 14k yellow gold. The peacock's feathers are beautifully fanned out and are prong set with 11 cabochon opals, 6 round emeralds, 6 round sapphires, and a single round brilliant diamond. The opals are white with nice green and red play and range in size from approximately 2.64mm round to approximately 6.13x4.28mm oval. The 6 emeralds are a light green color and weigh an approximate total of 0.45 carats. The 6 round sapphires are a medium grayish-blue color and weigh an approximate total of 0.40 carats. The round brilliant cut diamond weighs approximately 0.10 carats an displays a fancy pinkish-brown color with clean SI2 clarity. All of the stones are complemented by very colorful plique-à-jour enamel work throughout the piece. The peacock itself is adorned with blue and green enamel while the peacock's feathers are made from green, blue, and red enamel. The piece can be worn as either a brooch by using the pin on the back or a pendant by swiveling out the bail and hanging it from a chain. No chain is included with this piece, but the measurements of the inside of the bail are listed so you can check whether you chain will fit through prior to purchase. The enamel work remains in amazing near-perfect condition and the piece itself remains in excellent 100% ready to wear condition.
